MLA Dilip Mandal, close to Mamata Banerjee, arrested; was hiding in a Puri hotel

TMC MLA Dilip Mondal Arrest: The troubles of Mamata Banerjee, who has been away from power in Bengal for 15 years, are not showing any signs of reducing. Mamata Banerjee herself and her party are facing trouble on many fronts. After being away from power, even those close to Mamata Banerjee are moving away. TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh has resigned from all the posts of the party. While 101 councillors have also resigned en masse. Now MLA Dilip Mondal, close to Mamata Banerjee, has been arrested. TMC MLA Dilip Mondal from Bishnupur seat of 24 Parganas has been arrested by Bengal Police from a hotel in Puri.

The Bengal Police Special Task Force (STF) has arrested TMC MLA Dilip Mandal on charges of threatening workers and supporters of another party. The STF is bringing Mandal to Kolkata on transit remand.

In fact, recently, a video of MLA Dilip Mandal, a close associate of Mamata Banerjee, went viral on social media. In the video, Dilip Mandal was seen threatening workers and supporters of another party. A police complaint was filed against the MLA. Based on the allegations of threats, the police registered a case under non-bailable sections and began an investigation.

Following a complaint and the registration of an FIR, police raided MLA Dilip Mandal’s home on May 14th. However, he was not found at home at the time. Upon receiving news of the police’s arrival, he fled the house. Police subsequently engaged in a search for him. A few days earlier, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Bengal Police had received information that Dilip was hiding in a hotel in Puri. Upon receiving the information, the STF and Diamond Harbour police raided the hotel. Police raided the hotel room and took him into custody.

Police have arrested 5 people including the son

Police had already arrested five people in connection with the case, including the MLA’s son, Arghya Mandal. Arghya was arrested with weapons and is accused of inciting unrest in the area. Diamond Harbour police launched a massive operation to search for the MLA’s son. Police were successful in arresting five people, including Arghya, from the Bakkhali-Fraserganj area near the Bay of Bengal.
