KORBA: Three drunk men misbehaved with doctors and nurses at Pali CHC, angry health workers gheraoed the police station

Korba. Three drunkards defied security arrangements and created a ruckus at the Pali Community Health Centre (CHC) under the Pali police station area of the district last night. These drunk youths not only misbehaved with the doctors and nurses serving in the hospital, but also threatened them with dire consequences. A video of this entire incident is rapidly going viral on social media, which has once again raised a big question mark on the safety of health workers in government hospitals.

There was chaos in the hospital, patients were frightened.

According to reports, the accused youths are said to be residents of Nunera and Banbandha villages. The high-voltage drama and abusive language employed by the drunken youths within the hospital premises created panic among the critically ill patients and their relatives. The commotion caused considerable chaos within the hospital premises, disrupting healthcare services.

The police station was cordoned off and an FIR was registered after the police explained the situation.

Outraged by the incident, the health department team and the affected doctors and nurses gathered in large numbers and went straight to the Pali police station. Health workers were deeply angered by the incident. The large number of medical staff gathered and surrounded the police station, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused, causing a brief uproar inside.

Given the sensitivity of the matter, senior police officers calmed the agitated healthcare workers and assured them of appropriate legal action. Following the police’s persuasion and assurances, a case (FIR) was finally registered against the accused.

Hospital staff say that such acts are committed by antisocial elements at the health center on a daily basis, making them feel unsafe. However, based on the viral video and complaint, the police have registered a case against the accused and have begun searching for them.
