Andhra Pradesh 33% Women Reservation: Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu’s party Telugu Desam Party i.e. TDP has taken a big decision on 33% women reservation. TDP has implemented 33% women reservation within the party. Under this, women will be given reservation on 33% seats in the upcoming elections. TDP, BJP’s ally in Andhra Pradesh and a party of NDA alliance, said that even though the women reservation bill could not be implemented in the country, the party has implemented 33% women reservation in the state.

Speaking on women’s reservations, TDP Working President Nara Lokesh said that opposition parties opposed the Women’s Reservation Bill during Parliament sessions, which prevented women from achieving their ambitious demands. However, the Telugu Desam Party has taken the historic decision to provide 33 percent reservation for women despite the bill.
Presenting the historic resolution at the TDP’s Mahanadu Conclave, Lokesh said, “This promise is not just a slogan, but a responsibility and a promise for India’s future. We need more women MLAs and MPs, more women leaders, and more women policymakers. Women will walk shoulder to shoulder in leading the TDP’s future. This is our resolve, our responsibility, and our commitment.”
Describing TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu as pioneers in women’s empowerment, Lokesh recalled that NTR introduced equal property rights for women, reservations in local bodies, and the establishment of the Padmavati University for women. He said Naidu later furthered women’s empowerment through welfare initiatives such as 33% reservation in education and employment, DWCRA groups, and the Deepam scheme.
Women should take decisions in governance
He said that the next era of Indian politics should be one of women’s leadership. He added that the NDA government has taken a historic step by introducing the Women’s Reservation Bill. The TDP leader said that women should not remain mere beneficiaries of welfare schemes, but should emerge as decision-makers in governance and politics.
