Dhamtari . The Dhamtari police’s strict action against crimes against women and children in the district is now being reflected in court decisions. In three separate cases of rape of minors, the court sentenced the accused to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment . This verdict is not only a warning to criminals but also a message of confidence for families who approach the police with hopes of justice.

The Dhamtari police’s investigation system proved to be the key link in these cases. According to sources, in all three cases, the police focused on technical and scientific evidence alongside traditional investigations. Victim statements, medical reports, circumstantial evidence, and strong witness presentations strengthened the prosecution’s position in court. This led to the successful punishment of the accused.
The court found Toran Lal Joshi, a resident of Donar village, guilty in the Arjuni police station case; Sagar alias Karan Sahu, a resident of Bemetara, in the Bhakhara police station case; and Narendra Kumar Mandavi, a resident of Bhandarwadi, in the Sihawa police station case; each of them was sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. Serious sections of the POCSO Act and the Indian Penal Code were imposed in all three cases.
Superintendent of Police Suraj Singh Parihar was continuously monitoring these cases. Police sources indicate that the Superintendent of Police had clearly instructed all investigating officers that negligence in crimes against women and children would not be tolerated. The strategy of swift investigation, use of technical evidence, and timely filing of charges is now showing results.
These three cases were investigated by Inspector Pramod Amaltas, Sub-Inspector Kapishwar Pushpakar, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Dulal Nath. The police department is now preparing to honor these officers. It is believed that this will inspire other officers to do better in investigating serious crimes.
It is noteworthy that in 2026 alone, the Dhamtari police have secured sentences of 20 years each for the accused in nine cases under the POCSO Act. These continuous decisions send a clear message to the district that it will no longer be easy for criminals involved in crimes against women and children to escape.
