Bullion traders angry over Pendra massacre: State President Kamal Soni reached the spot, said – the criminals should be arrested soon…

Pendra, Chhattisgarh | The daylight shooting of a bullion trader and the robbery of jewellery worth lakhs in Kotmi market of GPM district has sparked widespread outrage among traders across the state. Upon learning of the incident, State President of the Bullion Association, Kamal Soni, accompanied by the Inspector General of Police, arrived at the scene and inquired about the entire matter.

Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic incident, State President Mr. Soni said that such a heinous crime in an open market raises serious questions about law and order. He demanded the police administration immediately arrest the criminals and take strict action.
Following the incident, Mr. Soni also met with the family of the deceased bullion trader, Pradeep Soni alias Pappu, and consoled them and assured them of all possible support. He stated that the safety of traders is the primary responsibility of the government and administration, and that robust security arrangements should be provided to bullion traders to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
It is noteworthy that on Tuesday evening, three armed masked criminals arrived on a motorcycle at the Kotmi weekly market on the Pendra–Marwahi main road and attacked the shop of bullion trader Pradeep Soni. The criminals attempted to steal a box full of jewelry. When the merchant resisted, the accused shot him in the chest, killing him on the spot. After the incident, the accused fled with the box full of gold and silver jewelry.
Following this sensational incident, an atmosphere of panic has gripped the entire area, while business organizations have intensified their demands for immediate action and ensuring the safety of merchants from the administration.
